More Realistic Relationship Statuses →
The Lion Haired Girl posted this a while ago, and I nearly split a side: it is so accurate. Instead of the utterly basic “Single”, “Engaged”, “In a Relationship”, “It’s complicated” facebook options, she has some much more realistic suggestions for relationship status options. (Click through the title for the whole list)

When Reality-TV Style Narration Begins to Affect...
Me: The diversity of the works produced during this time provide viewers with an engaging read, and like any great story of triumph, begins with a daunting struggle.
Advisor: Great, dramatic language but you might want to reign it in a bit.

Rebellion
When you’re a nerd, “rebellion” is scheduling your two allowable library renewals to cover your vacation period, then flirting with the $120 library late fee for inter-library loaned books by strategically planning days you need the books to fall before the first warning email, and returning them before the second, which contains the bill.
College is making me a rebel....

That Awkward Moment When
theuniversityredhead:
You realize you wrote most of the paper and don’t have a thesis statement
You spend two pages talking about how you’re not going to talk about Jackson Pollock in this paper
You alternate yoga pants and jeggings everyday for a week

On Mixtapes and Failure
Oddly enough, one of my most effective study tunes albums is this mix that my last boyfriend gave me. He didn’t even make it “for me”- it’s the pilot episode of his radio show, if he were to have one. Clever idea. And it’s a great mix! It also happens to be way better than any of the mixes that were made intentionally for me. Huh.
Then there’s the mixes from...

Sounds to Sleep To
You know those sound machines some people use when they sleep? Well, my mom and I have a running joke about hers, since she finds it super calming and I find it super annoying. They usually come with five or so different sounds, and I just can’t relax with any of them! Typical sound machine options usually include:
The ocean. Instead of being soothed by the waves, I get too focused on...

This Just In
I was just talking with my mom about our days of work, and by the end of it I was crying. Do you want to know why?
Because today at her work the regular UPS man came into her office to have her sign for a package, and noticed her picture of the floor of Jackson Pollock’s visit from our recent visit to his studio (I researched in their house for a few days).
(The picture of the studio floor...
